Mechatronics
The use of the term "Mechatronics" has grown significantly with the advancement of the technologies it describes. Mechatronics is the synergistic integration of three distinct engineering disciplines: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science. When these three core disciplines are combined a new generation of more reliable, versatile, and cost-effective machines becomes possible. The term was originally coined in 1969 by Mr. Tetsuro Mori, a senior engineer of the Japanese company, Yaskawa.
